Wendy McCool Lewis isn’t just a smart girl with a pretty face, she also has the best name of anyone in our company.
She has been with CSG since January of 2012 and works as a Senior Account Executive with some fun clients such as The SHOT Show, the International Boatbuilders Exhibition and Conference, AFIRE, and the National Association of Chemical Distributors. I sat down with Wendy and pried some personal information from her so we could all get to know her better. Here are the highlights of our conversation.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I originally hail from Arkansas but I’ve lived in every time zone in the U.S. and in Europe.
Q: Tell us something about you that people don’t know or realize you have to do as part of your job?
A: For this job, you have to know everything and be really good at a number of different skill sets — strategy, copywriting, clever media negotiating — as well as staying on the cutting edge of innovative marketing. It can be pretty time consuming.
Q: Tell us something interesting about you or your life?
A: I have a rebellious spirit. I’m a bit of a rule breaker — but just with small stuff. I will jaywalk if told not to. 😉
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I fly airplanes. To me it’s a mental challenge of taking on what’s considered a male hobby and kickin’ its butt as a female. It challenges my brain, there is peace in the air, and then there is the thrill of landing. My ultimate goal is to be an aerobatic pilot.
Q: Do you have any pets/spouse/kids?
A: I have a husband but my cat Rigel really rules my life. My sleep schedule is dictated by an 18 pound grey fur ball.
Q: What’s the most fun thing that you’ve done in the last couple of months?
A: I flew my plane to the Florida keys. It was cross-country down the East coast!
Q: What books do you like to read?
A: I read a mixture books. Classics such as Tolstoy, educational type books, and fun beach reads.
Q: If you could go anywhere, be anyone, live anywhere, what or where would that be?
A: If I started a second career I would be an airplane mechanic. How a plane operates is fascinating — and it’s one place I can get greasy and dirty.
Q: What’s your professional specialty—how do you best serve your CSG clients?
A: I bring a holistic picture to them. I don’t want to just accomplish a task, I want to improve their marketing and communications on every level.
Q: Have you won any awards or been recognized?
A: My clients have won a number of great awards! Their numbers continue to grow and they continue to be recognized.
Thanks for your time Wendy! Keep up the great work. Wendy continues her excellent work from a new location in Arizona — we call it CSG Southwest. But we still get to see her when she flies back east each month. Just not in her own plane — it was tough enough getting that over the Continental Divide on her way out.
