Depending on how much you use your phone, most people’s batteries won’t last a full day without charging it. I know it can be frustrating to charge especially when it’s about to die — it’s agonizing for me just waiting for my phone to increase 3% in 20 minutes.
Well, our smartphone prayers have been answered! There’s a new product on the way called, Huawei. Huawei is a new, fast-charging battery capable of charging 10 times faster than an ordinary charger. The batteries were developed by the Huawei-owned Watt Lab, and were demonstrated in Japan last week.
The batteries have a catalyst built into the anode that speeds up the conversion of electrical energy from the grid into chemical energy without shortening the battery’s life.
Two types have been presented which include the 3,000 milliampere-hour (mAh battery) battery that can be charged to 48% in five minutes and a smaller 600maH battery that hit 68% in two minutes.
The technology was demonstrated using batteries that fit into a smartphone, but which use standalone chargers. Huawei expects to be able to integrate the chargers directly into the smartphones in the near future. So, in the meantime, we can all stay plugged-in and dream of the days when we won’t need a charger at our desk, in our car, by our bed, in the kitchen, or need to carry a portable battery charger in our purse.
This is good news for all you trade show professionals. No more hanging around the kiosks for long periods of time when you’re needed across the convention center. This may even be a good giveaway for your attendees!
