For more than 50 years, the National Association of Chemical Distributors served a steadily evolving industry. As member companies expanded beyond traditional distribution, the association’s name and positioning no longer reflected the breadth of expertise it represented. Membership growth had slowed, and the organization needed a compelling, research-driven case to make significant brand changes and remain relevant as the champion for professionals who steward the safe and responsible movement of essential chemical products.
Solution
CSG conducted a comprehensive research initiative to identify the name and strategic direction that best aligned with the industry’s future. The outcome: Alliance for Chemical Distribution, a name that broadened relevance without losing credibility. CSG developed a full brand identity, refreshed messaging that positioned ACD as the industry’s champion, and executed a multi-channel rollout. Elements included printed collateral, an asset toolkit, a brand rollout landing page, a website reskin, and a launch video. The campaign culminated in a live reveal at the ACD Annual Meeting, followed by brand integration across all communication channels.
Outcome
The rebrand launched successfully and expanded ACD’s influence over the next two years. With a clear and more inclusive identity, ACD became a more visible and authoritative voice on national chemical management issues, strengthening its media and Capitol Hill engagement. Membership leads broadened across new product verticals, positioning ACD for long-term relevance and leadership.
